Job Description
Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, sales performance, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, and operate in compliance with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws/regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet/exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve. Handle objections/concerns and secure appropriate next steps to close sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease/product/clinical and sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business-related field, or equivalent.
- Proven success in selling; solid presentation skills.
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Strong business acumen; proficient business tools use; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style/behavior; effective in a matrix environment.
- Preferred: success in sales performance in respective therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing); English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English-speaking countries.
- Essential: satisfy applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to enter/maintain access to facilities/organizations in assigned territory; must be in good standing/eligible.
- HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses. Candidate is responsible for meeting requirements.
