Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance and brand KPIs; meet or exceed financial targets and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close each sales call.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and achieving win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise) to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business (preferred) OR equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years pharmaceutical/health/science experience (3+ years preferred) and a high school diploma/GED.
- Ability to identify customer behavior and adapt selling approach.
- Proven success in selling with strong presentation skills; strategic and critical thinking; strong business acumen and business tool proficiency.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Demonstrated leadership/support success with increased responsibility.
- Preferred: sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Must drive a personal or company vehicle or powered material handling equipment; valid driver’s license and ability to meet safe driving requirements.
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in assigned territory (including possible background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
