Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; deliver sales performance; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer needs-solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center and operating in compliance with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise) with in-field and brand teams to anticipate changes and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years pharmaceutical/health/science experience (3+ years preferred) and a high school diploma/GED required.
- Adapt selling approach to customer style/behavior.
- Offer innovative ideas and leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
- Demonstrate in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; effective in a matrix environment.
- Influence others; act as a credible role model; build collaborative partnerships and provide peer coaching.
- Driving: personal/company vehicle or powered equipment; valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
- Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels.
- Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing experience; English proficiency (for non-English-speaking countries).
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in the assigned territory (background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, state/city licenses as applicable).
