Purpose:
Execute brand strategy and tactics in field/sales; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships; solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, placing the patient at the center, and operate in compliance with AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws/regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve; handle objections and consistently drive logical calls to action to close sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics; optimize coverage/frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously assess customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, and disease/product/clinical expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of experience, including 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach quickly.
- Proven success in selling with solid presentation skills; offers innovative ideas/solutions and leverages insights to develop sales strategies.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; effective in matrix environments.
- Influences others; credible, respected role model; collaborative with district/matrix teams; provides peer coaching.
- Documented leadership/success with increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels.
- Preferred: sales performance success in respective therapeutic areas; commercial pharma experience (e.g., physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, marketing); English proficiency (verbal and writing).
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities/organizations in assigned territory (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, state/city licenses); must be in good standing/eligible to obtain credentials.
