Role Summary

Specialty Representative, GIC - Las Vegas, NV. Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long term sales while operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Aspire to serve customer needs, expectations and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory dynamics, competitors, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team and brand team to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of relevant industry experience with three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach; uses findings to develop sales strategies
  • Operates effectively in a matrix environment; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities; anticipates and responds to changes
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; credible and respected resource; builds partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team
  • Leads by example; demonstrated leadership in district/region/organizational roles
  • Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities in the territory; responsible for maintaining credentials
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and licenses as required; AbbVie provides resources to assist
