Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts to maximize short- and long-term sales performance.
- Deliver sales performance and brand KPIs/financial targets/marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships and win-win agreements by proactively serving customer needs and challenges.
- Develop and execute call plans that achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Maintain and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product/clinical/sales expertise) to align brand strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred (or relevant equivalent industry experience required).
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of experience; 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proactively adapts selling approach based on customer style/behavior.
- Proven sales success; strong presentation skills; provides innovative solutions to address challenges and develop sales strategies.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; effective in matrix environments.
- Proven leadership/support success with increased responsibility (district/region/organizational levels).
- Preferred: sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing; English proficiency in verbal and written form (for non-English countries as applicable).
- Must meet all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities/organizations in assigned territory and remain in good standing/eligible.
