Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; execute post-call evaluation to improve performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and reach win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven success in selling; strong presentation skills; innovative ideas.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Ability to adapt selling approach; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Meet health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination; additional fingerprinting/licenses as required) and maintain eligibility.
- Preferred: sales performance track record in respective therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency for non-English speaking countries.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Ability to travel to cover territory and attend training/events; drive personal/company vehicle or powered equipment.
