This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.

Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; conduct post-call evaluation to continuously improve performance; handle objections to drive logical calls to action and close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and challenges and achieving win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that meets call metrics and optimizes coverage/frequency to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence to align and optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications (Required/Preferred):
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years industry experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science (high school diploma/GED required).
- Proactive ability to identify customer behavior and adapt selling approach.
- Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; innovative, strategic problem-solving.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; works effectively in a matrix environment.
- Leadership/support success at district/region/organizational levels.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
- Travel adequately; attend training and sales meetings.
- Preferred: sales performance success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency verbally and in writing.
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities in assigned territory.
