This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city (Worcester/Cambridge/Waltham, MA and Manchester/Concord, NH).
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships by solving customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance, while operating in accordance with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets/marketing objectives.
- Create SMART pre-call plans; conduct post-call evaluation to continuously improve; handle objections and gain logical calls to action to close sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, disease/product/clinical and sales expertise; share intelligence to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition with assigned providers; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent experience required (≥5 years; ≥3 years in pharma/health/science preferred); high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven selling success and strong presentation skills; adapts approach; offers innovative ideas.
- Influences others; credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships; leads by example.
- Documented success with increased responsibility; understands/leverages findings for sales strategies.
- Preferred: therapeutic-area sales success; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency (verbal/writing).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements for facility entry; in good standing/eligible.
- Demonstrate scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and tools; strategic/critical thinking; effective in matrix environment.
- Ability to drive personal or company vehicle/equipment; valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening.
