Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Spokane, WA. Field-based role covering Spokane, surrounding areas, northern Idaho, and all of Montana. Responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing the assigned territory and targeted accounts, and building strong customer relationships to maximize short and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed set targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and drive calls to action.
  • Proactively address customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain and share market intelligence on customer needs, competition, market segments, accounts, disease states, and product knowledge with in-field team, brand team, and sales management.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in total with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment; innovative problem-solving.
  • Proven track record in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style/behavior and influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to support increased responsibilities at district/region levels; ability to develop sales strategies from findings.
  • Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; comfortable driving personal or company vehicle.

Education

Additional Requirements
