Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology- South Dallas. Field-based role serving Irving, Dallas, Rowlett, Arlington, Waxahachie, Bedford, and surrounding areas. Role focuses on executing brand strategy, driving field sales performance, managing territory and accounts, and placing the patient at the center of efforts within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan achieving set metrics to optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and disease/product knowledge with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment; innovative problem-solving.
  • Proven track record in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style/behavior and respond to changes effectively.
  • Influences others, builds collaborative partnerships, and demonstrates leadership and positive coaching in dynamic environments.
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: Proven sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency in speaking and writing.
  • Must satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
