Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Shreveport, Louisiana. Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long term sales performance, placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Aspire to serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales insights to align with in-field and brand teams.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/maintain disease state experts and spokespeople to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience required.
  • Equivalent industry experience of at least five years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; operates effectively in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style/behavior and respond to changes.
  • Influences others; credible, collaborative, and capable of coaching peers in changing environments.
  • History of leadership or increased responsibility at district/region levels with sales strategy development experience.
  • Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
