Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology in Scranton, PA. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance while operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and evaluate post-call results; handle objections and close calls effectively.
  • Proactively address customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics, optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously develop understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and market dynamics; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales management to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent experience: at least five years of industry experience; three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt selling approach to customer style; contributes ideas to the organization and responds to changes.
  • Influences others and is seen as a credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships within district and matrix teams; demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching.
  • Demonstrated leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Driver’s license required; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; safe driving requirements.
  • Experience driving a personal or company vehicle and operating related equipment.
