Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Santa Clarita, CA. Field-based role covering Santa Clarita and surrounding areas; responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics, managing territory and targeted accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize sales performance while adhering to all laws and AbbVie policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed specified objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and accounts to align with field and brand teams and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience; high school diploma/GED required with at least five years of relevant experience, including three years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking.
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and behavior; ability to influence and build credibility among peers.
  • Documentation of leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: prior sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written).
  • Must satisfy health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements; be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
