Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Salt Lake City, UT. Field-based role covering Utah, Boise ID, Southeast Idaho, and surrounding areas. Responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, driving sales performance, managing territory and accounts, and solving customer needs with the patient at the center while adhering to all laws and AbbVie policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and market dynamics with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition to health providers and develop disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent industry experience: at least five years total, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking.
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and environment; proactive and anticipatory mindset.
  • Influence and credibility among peers; ability to build collaborative partnerships within district and matrix teams.
  • Documented leadership or increased responsibility at district/region levels; ability to leverage findings for sales strategies.
  • Preferred: prior sales success in the therapeutic area; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in the territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen; driving a personal or company vehicle.
