Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Raleigh W, NC. Field-based role covering Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Cary, Chapel Hill, High Point, Winston Salem, Fayetteville. Role focuses on executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing territory and accounts, building customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to improve performance; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics, optimize coverage and frequency to key customers, and maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, products, and share insights with in-field teams and management to optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
  • Five years of relevant industry experience if no bachelor’s degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking
  • Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; ability to adapt selling style to customer behavior
  • Ability to influence others and build collaborative partnerships; leadership and accountability in increasing responsibilities
  • Preferred: successful sales performance in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Valid driver's license, ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, and safe driving
