Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Philadelphia W, PA. Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships to maximize short and long term sales performance with patient-centric focus, operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continually improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Proactively address customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, product, and sales insights with in-field team, brand team, and sales management to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Five (5) years of related industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree is required, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industries preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; effective in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking
  • Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; adapts selling approach to customer style; anticipates and responds to changes
  • Influences others, credible and respected resource among peers; builds collaborative partnerships; leads by example
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies
  • Preferred: proven sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities and organizations within the territory; responsible for maintaining credentials
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen; driving personal or company vehicle

Education
