Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Orlando S, FL. This field-based role covers multiple locations and is aligned with AbbVie’s brand strategy to maximize sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Aspire to serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan optimizing coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, products, clinical and sales knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers and identify disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience required
  • 5+ years of industry experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and respond to changes
  • Influences others; credible role model; builds partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team; leads by example
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels
  • Preferred: proven sales performance in therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; driving a personal auto or company car
