Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Orlando N, FL. Field-based role serving the Orlando area; geography includes Orlando, Winter Springs, Sanford, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, Lakeside. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute call plans achieving metrics to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and market dynamics; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition, identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years total, with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required if no bachelor’s degree.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Proven track record in selling and presenting; ability to adapt to customer styles and respond to changes.
  • Influences others, credible resource among peers, and builds collaborative partnerships; demonstrates leadership and peer coaching.
  • Demonstrated leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; ability to develop sales strategies from findings.
  • Preferred: success in sales within therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and maintain eligibility; may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive personal or company vehicle.
