Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Omaha, Nebraska. Field-based role serving Des Moines, Lincoln, Omaha and surrounding areas. Responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing territory and accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales, patient-centered, compliant with all laws and AbbVie policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and evaluate post-call outcomes; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute call plans to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales insights with in-field team, brand team and sales management to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition, identify and maintain disease-state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience; high school diploma/GED required with at least five years of relevant experience, including three+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
  • In-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment; innovative problem solving.
  • Proven selling success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer styles and anticipate changes.
  • Influential and credible, with ability to build partnerships across districts and matrix teams; demonstrated leadership and ability to take on increasing responsibility.
  • Preferred: sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency in both speaking and writing.
  • Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain access to facilities and organizations; able to obtain and maintain required credentials; background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as applicable.
