Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Nashville S, TN. Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long term sales performance with patient-centered focus and in compliance with all laws and AbbVie policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements with customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales insights to align with in-field and brand teams and optimize execution.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
  • At least five years of industry experience if no bachelor’s degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; effective in a matrix environment
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer styles and respond to changes
  • Influences others; credible role model; builds partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team; leads by example
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to handle increased responsibility at district/region levels; develops sales strategies from findings
  • Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities; maintain good standing or eligibility for credentials
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; may drive personal or company vehicle

Education

  • Ability to operate within field-based role; residence within reasonable distance of Nashville and surrounding areas
