Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology- Louisville, KY. This field-based role covers Louisville and surrounding areas. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluation to improve sales performance; handle objections and drive calls to action to close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiates AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers; identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five (5) years of experience with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required
  • Deep scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and drive impact
  • Influences others; credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships; leads by example
  • History of leadership or increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies
  • Preferred: success in sales within respective therapeutic areas; pharma industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency
  • HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to drive personal vehicle or company car/truck
