Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance and brand KPIs; meet or exceed financial targets and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives; perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve performance; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively addressing customer needs, expectations, and challenges; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease/product expertise, clinical and sales knowledge) to align with in-field and brand teams and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field (preferred) OR relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least five (5) years experience; three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven success in selling with strong presentation skills; adapts selling approach based on customer style/behavior; offers innovative solutions; anticipates/responds to changes.
- Demonstrated influence/leadership, credible peer role model; builds collaborative partnerships; provides peer coaching.
- Documented success in leadership/support roles with increased responsibility; leverages findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: sales performance track record in relevant therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities in assigned territory; may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; must be eligible/in good standing.
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; effective in a matrix environment.
- Driving requirement: ability to drive personal auto/company car or truck or powered material handling equipment.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
