Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Lancaster, PA. Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long term sales while placing the patient at the center and adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close effectively.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and opportunities.
  • Maintain understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/develop disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s, with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; capable in a matrix environment; strategic and creative problem-solving
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; adapts to customer style and demonstrates impact with ideas for the organization
  • Influences others, credible role model, builds partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; positive leadership and coaching in changing environments
  • Documented leadership experience and ability to develop sales strategies from findings
  • Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations; able to obtain and maintain credentials
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements
  • Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or related equipment
