Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Greenville, SC. This field-based role covers Greenville, SC and surrounding areas. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. in order to meet or exceed on those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plan using SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, concerns and consistently gain logical and reasonable calls to action to close on every sales call.
  • Proactively serve customer needs, expectations and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs and territory dynamics, and share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent experience: at least five years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; operates effectively in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proven track record of success in selling and strong presentation skills; adapts to customer style/behavior; provides impactful ideas for the organization; anticipates and responds to changes.
  • Influences others and is a credible, respected role model; builds collaborative partnerships; leads by example with positive behaviors and coaching.
  • Documented leadership experience at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: proven sales performance in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities in the territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen; safe driving requirements.
