Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Fargo, North Dakota. Field-based role serving Fargo, Sioux Falls, Bismarck and surrounding areas. Responsible for executing brand strategy, managing territory and targeted accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance while adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and drive calls to action to close sales.
  • Proactively address customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales knowledge with in-field team and Brand/Sales leadership to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Five (5) years of relevant industry experience required if no bachelor’s degree; three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; proficient use of business tools; able to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and behavior; contributes ideas and anticipates changes.
  • Influences others and is viewed as a credible mentor; builds partnerships with district peers and matrix team; demonstrates positive behaviors and coaching.
  • Documented leadership experience at district/region levels; able to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: Proven sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency in writing and speaking.
  • Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain access to facilities; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses; responsibility to satisfy all requirements.

Education
