Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Denver South, CO. Field-based role covering Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Grand Junction, and surrounding areas. Responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, managing territory and targeted accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance while adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct and all applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Aspire to serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, products, clinical and sales insights to align with in-field and brand teams and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Five (5) years of relevant industry experience required if no bachelor's degree; three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven track record in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and anticipate changes.
  • Influences others and is a credible, respected resource; builds collaborative partnerships and demonstrates leadership in changing environments.
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: Proven sales success in the therapeutic area; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; drive personal or company vehicle as part of duties.
