Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Denver South, CO. This field-based role covers Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Grand Junction, and surrounding areas. Responsible for executing brand strategy and tactics in the field, driving sales performance, managing territory and accounts, and solving customer needs while maintaining AbbVie’s code of conduct and compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, and disease/product knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
  • Differentiates AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five years in lieu of a bachelor’s, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking; able to operate in a matrix environment
  • Proven track record of sales success and strong presentation skills; ability to adapt selling approach to customer style
  • Influences others; credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships and demonstrates leadership in changing environments
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies
  • Preferred: track record of sales success in their therapeutic area; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; may drive personal vehicle or company car
