Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives; conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance.
- Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns; consistently secure logical and reasonable calls to action to close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and expectations; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, landscape, competitors, accounts, disease, products, clinical and sales expertise) to align on strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of experience with 3+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven success in selling and solid presentation skills; adapts selling approach to customer style/behavior; offers innovative ideas.
- Influences others; credible, respected role model; collaborative with district colleagues and matrix team.
- Documented success in leadership/support roles with increasing responsibility; understands and leverages findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: sales performance success within therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience.
- English proficiency verbally and in writing (for non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain facility access (background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and required state/city licenses).
- Demonstrated in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; expert resource; strong business acumen and business tools; strategic and critical thinking; effective in matrix environment.
- Ability to drive a personal auto/company vehicle or powered material handling equipment.
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
