Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Dayton/Toledo, OH. Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long term sales performance with patient-centric focus and compliance with all laws and AbbVie policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements with AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency for key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, and share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; operates effectively in a matrix environment
  • Proven track record of selling success and strong presentation skills; adapts to customer style/behavior and contributes innovative ideas
  • Influences others and is regarded as a credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships and coaches others through changing environments
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies
  • Preferred: sales success in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities/organizations in the territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and meet safe driving requirements

  • Field-based role; applicants should reside within reasonable distance from Dayton/Toledo, OH; geography covers Dayton, Toledo and surrounding areas
