Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Columbus, Georgia. Field-based role serving the Columbus area and surrounding markets. Role focuses on executing brand strategy, driving sales performance, and building strong customer relationships in alignment with AbbVie policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections effectively to drive action.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and reach win-win agreements with customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set metrics and optimize coverage and frequency for key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, and product knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3)+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; operates effectively in a matrix environment
  • Proven track record of success in selling; strong presentation skills; ability to adapt selling approach to customer style
  • Influences others, credible and respected; builds partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; demonstrates positive behaviors and coaching
  • Leadership experience with increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; able to develop sales strategies
  • Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency
  • Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain/maintain access to facilities and organizations; in good standing or eligible for credentials
