This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships and customer needs solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance; place the patient at the center of all efforts; operate in accordance with AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets to meet/exceed objectives.
- Create SMART pre-call plans; execute post-call evaluations; handle objections and consistently gain logical, reasonable calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs/expectations/challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, accounts, disease/product/clinical expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate value proposition and identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; relevant equivalent experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: 5+ years experience (3+ years preferred) in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven selling success and strong presentation skills; adapts sales approach; offers innovative solutions.
- Influences others; credible role model; leads by example; peer coaching.
- Documented leadership success with increased responsibility.
- Preferred: success in sales performance within therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing preferred; English proficiency (for non-English speaking countries, verbal/written).
- HCIR credentialing required to enter assigned facilities (background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, state/city licenses as applicable); maintain good standing.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; effective in a matrix environment.
- Ability to drive (personal auto/company car/truck or powered material handling equipment); valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
