Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology - Cherry Hill, NJ. Field-based role; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. Geography covers: Philadelphia, Camden, Atlantic City, Toms River, Lakewood, Vineland, Wilmington, DE.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease state, product, and sales insights with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify/maintain disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent experience; high school diploma/GED required with at least five years of relevant industry experience, three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; operates effectively in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proven track record in selling with solid presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style/behavior and influence outcomes.
  • Leads by example and builds collaborative partnerships; demonstrates positive behaviors and peer coaching in changing environments.
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; develops sales strategies from findings.
  • Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency in speaking and writing.
  • Must satisfy all health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities and organizations in the territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; driving personal auto or company vehicle.
