Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets/marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create SMART pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve; handle objections and close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively serving customer needs and expectations; achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product/clinical/sales expertise) to align brand strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speaker/advocates.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; or relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years of experience (3+ years preferred) in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills; adapt selling approach to customer behavior; provide innovative solutions.
- Ability to influence others and serve as a credible role model; collaborate across district and matrix teams; provide peer coaching.
- Documented success in leadership/support roles with increased responsibility; use findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: sales performance success within therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (e.g., physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing); English proficiency (verbal and written for non-English speaking countries).
- Satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities/organizations; maintain good standing/eligibility.
- Demonstrated in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic/critical thinking; effective in a matrix environment.
- Ability to drive: personal auto or company vehicle/equipment; valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
