Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Dermatology - Pasadena, CA. Field-based role serving Pasadena and surrounding areas. Hires will be placed at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and secure action in calls.
  • Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Develop understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, and share insights with in-field teams and management to optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent experience: at least five years in lieu of a bachelor’s, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; operates in a matrix environment.
  • Proven record of success in selling with strong presentation skills; adapts to customer style and demonstrates impact with ideas for the organization.
  • Influences others, builds collaborative partnerships, leads by example, and coaches peers through change.
  • Documented leadership experience at district/region levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: proven sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency in writing and speaking.
  • Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities within the assigned territory and maintain credentials.
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization records, fingerprinting, and licenses; responsible for satisfying these requirements.
