Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create SMART pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve; handle objections and drive logical calls to action.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, accounts, disease, and product/clinical/sales expertise; share intelligence with in-field team/brand/sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred (or relevant/equivalent industry experience required).
- In lieu of degree: at least 5 years of pharmaceutical/health/science industry experience preferred; 3+ years preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven success in selling; solid presentation skills; adapts selling approach to customer style/behavior; offers innovative solutions.
- Influences others; credible role model; collaborative partnership; leads by example and provides peer coaching.
- Documented leadership/success with increased responsibility; leverages findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: success in sales performance within therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (e.g., physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, marketing); English proficiency.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in assigned territory; responsible for meeting requirements (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; matrix environment effectiveness.
