Specialty Representative, Dermatology - Eastern Shore (Maryland)

Role overview (field-based): Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build customer relationships by solving customer needs; maximize short- and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center and operating in compliance with AbbVie policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create SMART pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve; handle objections/concerns and drive appropriate calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, product/clinical/sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate value proposition with assigned health providers; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent relevant industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years relevant experience; 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven success in selling and strong presentation skills; adapts selling approach to customer behavior; offers innovative solutions.
- Ability to influence others and act as a credible peer resource; collaborates in a matrix environment; leads by example.
- Documented leadership/support success with increased responsibility at district/region/org levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: success in therapeutic area sales; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing); English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter facilities in assigned territory (background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, state/city licenses, as applicable).
- Demonstrated scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and use of business tools; strategic/critical thinking.
- Driving: ability to drive personal or company vehicle/equipment; valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
