This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city (Albany, NY area and Vermont, including Kingston, Saratoga Springs and Plattsburgh).
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy/tactics in the field to deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create SMART pre-call plans and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve; handle objections and consistently drive logical calls to action to close sales calls.
- Build trusted customer relationships by proactively addressing customer needs, expectations, and challenges and achieving win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, disease/product/clinical and sales expertise) with in-field/brand teams to align strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers; identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience.
- If no bachelor’s: 5+ years experience (3+ years in pharma/health/science preferred) and high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven sales success and strong presentation skills; adapts selling approach; provides innovative solutions.
- Influences others; credible role model; collaborative in matrix environment; leadership support for increasing responsibility.
- Preferred: sales performance track record in therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency.
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to enter assigned facilities (responsible for meeting requirements).
- Demonstrated scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strategic business acumen; proficient business tools.
- Ability to drive personal/company vehicle or powered equipment; valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
