The Specialty District Manager is responsible for planning and implementing district sales plans and coaching for success. Build and lead the district sales team; coach sales team members; establish and manage relationships with key customers, professionals, and internal stakeholders; manage district sales business operations (policies/procedures, budgets, sales/account data, etc.). Directly leads and manages a team of Specialty Sales Representatives and Specialty Account Managers promoting Takedaโs biotech products to medical professionals.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement market-based business strategies and business plans to achieve sales objectives and maximize product exposure/opportunities.
- Proactively evaluate business opportunities and recommend solutions to business challenges.
- Recruit, train, and develop Specialty Sales Representatives and Specialty Account Managers; coach/delegate/motivate and create a learning environment.
- Create and support integrated business and account teams to achieve sales objectives.
- Implement sales and marketing programs supporting U.S. growth in the assigned district.
- Hold self and team accountable for sales and Takeda objectives/goals.
- Ensure full compliance of selling activities with all applicable State and Federal regulations.
- Provide strategic input to Marketing to develop and evolve the marketing plan.
- Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the coverage area and therapeutic areas.
- Build internal partnerships; serve as liaison with other functions and sales/marketing personnel.
- Partner with Regional/National Account Managers on managed market issues and initiatives to maximize sales.
Required:
- BS/BA.
- Minimum 5 years of management-level experience in pharmaceutical/immunology/biologic-biotech/medical device industries (district/specialty account/marketing/product management or equivalent).
- Business and strategic planning skills; adaptability to changing markets.
- Ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a sales team with timely feedback.
- Ability to analyze complex data to build strategic, actionable plans.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred:
- MBA or Masterโs degree.
- Experience with infusion or injectable products.
- Account-based sales experience (e.g., hospital, health system, infusion centers, large group practice).
- Experience in Immunology and Gastroenterology.
- Biological product launch experience.
Travel Requirements:
- Drive or fly to meetings/client sites for local and national training and meetings.
- Overnight travel; 50โ75% travel.
Compensation and Benefits (explicitly stated):
- U.S. Base Salary Range: $176,000.00โ$242,000.00.
