Role Summary
- Director, Specialty Care Field Medical: provide therapeutic area/product expertise to external medical stakeholders and initiatives within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute independent medical strategies and engagements in the territory; coordinate with Pfizer colleagues to achieve medical objectives.
- Maintain expertise in relevant therapeutic area/disease states and Pfizer medicines; provide information to internal/external stakeholders.
- Serve as conduit for Medical Information and external stakeholder insights; share stakeholder viewpoints with Pfizer as appropriate.
- Contribute to medical educational content strategy and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.
- Deliver approved medical content; lead scientific/medical engagement and respond to unsolicited medical requests compliantly.
- Educate external stakeholders on patient care gaps and guideline-based care.
- Support advisory boards; triage inbound medical queries.
- Partner with IM/SC R&D and GPD to identify clinical trial sites (including under-represented populations); support ISR.
- Lead scientific communication across live/virtual/written/phone channels; apply health literacy and cultural awareness.
- Maintain compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and guidance.
Basic Qualifications
- MD or DO required.
- 4+ years relevant experience.
- Subject matter expert; strong oral/written and interpersonal skills; leadership, change agility, remote project management, matrix collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with internal/external SOPs/Rules/Regulations.
- Previous Field Medical experience.
Work/Travel Requirements
- Travel 40–50%; operate Pfizer company car; valid US driver’s license.
Benefits/Compensation (as stated)
- Base salary: $230,900–$384,800; bonus target 25% of base; eligibility for long-term incentive; comprehensive benefits including 401(k) matching and retirement contribution.
