OBJECTIVES:
The specialty sales force drives demand by reinforcing the product brand and Takeda value. The Specialty Business Manager β IBD presents Takeda products and optimizes business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts specializing in IBD. The role requires excellence in developing and applying business processes to achieve sales goals and objectives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support account onboarding (education and procedures).
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver the clinical value proposition and advance customers across a brand belief continuum.
- Support initial clinical education and in-services for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities/programs for HCPs (e.g., peer-to-peer discussions).
- Manage accounts in smaller/less complex GI practices, clinics/outlets, independent physician offices.
- Achieve sales goals and KPIs in the assigned territory; execute brand strategy/tactics within customer segments.
- Build professional relationships with healthcare providers, decision makers, support staff, and influencers.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved materials; discuss therapeutic strategies.
- Execute local marketing strategies and build customer engagement by cultivating relationships with local decision makers.
- Present complex clinical and business information to gastroenterologists and other stakeholders.
- Develop/implement medical education and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states/treatments.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Required:
- BA/BS.
- 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling (5 years preferred) or relevant clinical/industry experience.
- Business/strategic planning; adaptability to market conditions.
- Team collaboration.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication.
- Reside within or close to assigned geography.
Preferred:
- Injectable/infused IBD experience.
- Complex reimbursement experience; biological launch experience.
- Calling on gastroenterologists.
- Discussing therapeutic strategies; local marketing strategy execution.
- 5+ years direct selling to healthcare professionals.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Employment is contingent on passing mandatory product training (written/oral exams).
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- Valid Driverβs License.
TRAVEL:
- Drive/fly to meetings and client sites; 25β50% overnight travel.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS (if applicable):
- Massachusetts β Virtual; U.S. hourly wage range: $63.51β$87.31.
