Objectives:
- Drive demand by reinforcing the product brand and Takeda value.
- Present Takeda products and optimize business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts specializing in IBD.
Accountabilities:
- Support account onboarding, education, and procedures.
- Conduct clinical selling and deliver the clinical value proposition; advance customers along a brand belief continuum.
- Provide initial and ongoing clinical education/in-services for medical staff (e.g., infusion procedures) and coordinate HCP education opportunities (e.g., peer-to-peer).
- Manage GI practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices; achieve sales goals and key metrics in assigned territory.
- Build relationships with HCPs, decision makers, support staff, influencers; leverage clinical and business expertise and selling skills.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved materials; discuss therapeutic strategies.
- Execute local marketing strategies; identify and cultivate key decision-maker relationships.
- Present complex clinical and business information to gastroenterologists and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states, treatments, and business environment.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:
- BA/BS.
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device (5+ preferred) and/or relevant clinical/industry experience.
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability.
- Team collaboration.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication.
- Reside within or close to assigned geography.
Preferred:
- Experience with injectable/infused IBD products.
- Experience with complex reimbursement issues.
- Biological product launch experience; calling on gastroenterologists.
- Experience discussing therapeutic strategies; developing clinical/business selling expertise.
- Experience executing local marketing strategies.
- Minimum 5 years direct selling to healthcare professionals.
Licenses/Travel:
- Valid driverβs license.
- Ability to drive/fly; 25β50% overnight travel.
Training Requirements:
- Must pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams). Training may include up to 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week.
