Specialty Business Manager (Gastroenterology Specialty Sales Team) — Hartford, CT territory
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify appropriate Health Care Professional (HCP) stakeholders (including Gastroenterologists and professional/patient groups).
- Use consultative selling to educate HCPs and connect complex clinical/business information to Takeda solutions.
- Engage in clinical discussions to address patients’ needs, execute brand strategies, maximize sales growth, coach stakeholders, and build consensus.
- Collaborate on routing and resource utilization to maximize footprint performance.
- Strategize to solve deal-level challenges.
- Attend company-sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed.
- Pursue learning and professional development in sales, communication, and product knowledge.
- Conduct business in compliance with all regulations/policies and maintain high ethical/professional standards.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies to influence decision makers.
- Ability to develop/apply clinical and business expertise and effective selling skills.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience.
- Local-level marketing strategy execution; business/strategic planning; managed care landscape understanding.
- Team collaboration; injectable/infused IBD (IBD) product experience.
- Complex reimbursement experience; biological product launch experience; experience calling on Gastroenterologists.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License
Travel: Ability to drive/fly; some overnight travel 25–50%.
Training: Must pass mandatory product training (written and oral exams). External hires may be non-exempt during training and not eligible for sales incentives until transitioned after successful exams.
