Specialty Business Manager (Baton Rouge, LA territory) — Gastroenterology Specialty Sales Team
How you will contribute:
- Research prospective HCPs to identify key customer stakeholders to present complex clinical and business information (including Gastroenterologists and professional/patient groups).
- Use insight and consultative selling techniques to educate HCPs and connect their needs to Takeda solutions.
- Conduct clinical discussions to address patients’ needs, execute brand strategies, maximize sales growth in assigned geography; coach stakeholders and build consensus.
- Collaborate with partners on routing and resource utilization to maximize footprint performance.
- Strategize on solving deal-level challenges independently and collaboratively.
- Attend company-sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed.
- Pursue learning and professional development on sales, communication, and product knowledge.
- Perform business per regulations/policies; maintain high ethical and professional standards.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies to inform/influence decision makers.
- Ability to develop and apply clinical/business expertise and effective selling skills.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred:
- 5+ years relevant selling experience.
- Local-level marketing strategy execution.
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability to changing market conditions.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong team collaboration.
- Experience with injectable/infused IBD products; managing reimbursement issues.
- Biological product launch experience; experience calling on Gastroenterologists.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
Travel Requirements:
- Drive/fly to meetings and client sites; some overnight travel (25–50%).
Training Requirements:
- Employment is contingent on passing mandatory product training (written and oral exams); training includes live instruction, independent study, and role play (up to 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week). After passing exams, transition to exempt status and bi-weekly pay.
