Role Summary

Specialty Account Manager, Referral KRYSTEXXA - Nashville, TN (Rare Disease)

Responsibilities

  • Represent Amgen's Rare Disease products to Primary Care/FP/GP/IM, Podiatry, and Orthopedic physicians and healthcare professionals; establish Biotech/Infusion product sales; increase referrals for appropriate patients to Rheumatology and Nephrology; perform total territory account management.
  • Collaborate with 2-3 Specialty Account Managers in Rheumatology and Nephrology sales to identify referral patients in Podiatry, Primary Care, and Orthopedics near KRYSTEXXA advocates and centers of excellence.
  • Develop a comprehensive territory business plan to achieve and exceed annual sales goals.
  • Promote disease state awareness and value of the product to target customers; identify appropriate patient types for referral to treatment.
  • Communicate progress with SAM/ASD; ensure compliant and ethical promotion of KRYSTEXXA within labeling and guidelines.
  • Develop strong customer relationships by understanding needs and communicating them to the team; meet or exceed corporate sales goals.
  • Communicate territory activity accurately and timely; provide feedback to leadership and other departments about environment and results.
  • Adhere to compliance policies and guidelines, including PhRMA code; complete training; perform administrative duties accurately and timely.
  • Manage promotional and operational budget; maximize use of approved resources to achieve goals; collaborate across divisions to achieve objectives.
  • Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed; perform other tasks as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of sales experience in pharma/biotech/medical device or hospital sales
    • Or Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience in the same industries
    • Or High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience in the same industries
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Buy and bill experience and success preferred
    • Biologic/biotech sales and reimbursement experience preferred
    • Established customer relationships in primary care, podiatry and/or orthopedic markets required
    • Rheumatology and Nephrology therapeutic area experience preferred
    • Team environment experience with Commercial Operations functions
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Approximately 30% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments
    • Professional, proactive demeanor; strong interpersonal and communication skills
