Role Summary

Specialty Account Manager, Referral for KRYSTEXXA in Grand Rapids, MI (Rare Disease). Represents Amgen's Rare Disease products to primary care and specialty physicians, drives referrals to Rheumatology and Nephrology, and manages territory accounts to exceed sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with 2-3 Specialty Account Managers in Rheumatology and Nephrology teams to identify referral patients in Podiatry, Primary Care, and Orthopedics near KRYSTEXXA advocates and centers of excellence.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory business plan to achieve/exceed annual sales goals.
  • Promote disease state awareness and product value to target customers.
  • Identify appropriate patient types for referral to treatment.
  • Regularly communicate progress with SAM/ASD.
  • Promote KRYSTEXXA in compliance with labeling and regulatory guidelines.
  • Build strong customer relationships by understanding and communicating customer needs to the team.
  • Meet or exceed corporate sales goals; communicate territory activity accurately and timely.
  • Provide feedback to sales, leadership, marketing, and other departments about changing environment/results.
  • Adhere to compliance policies and guidelines (e.g., PhRMA code); complete training; perform administrative duties accurately and timely.
  • Manage promotional/operational budgets; maximize use of resources to achieve territory/account goals.
  • Collaborate across divisions within the GBU to achieve objectives; attend medical congresses/meetings as needed.
  • Perform other management-requested tasks.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of sales experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device or hospital sales
    • Or Associate degree and 6 years of such sales experience
    • Or High school diploma/GED and 8 years of such sales experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Buy-and-bill experience and success
    • Biologic/biotech sales and reimbursement experience
    • Established customer relationships in primary care, podiatry, and/or orthopedic markets
    • Rheumatology and Nephrology therapeutic area experience
    • Team-oriented with Commercial Operations collaboration
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and computer skills
    • Approximately 30% travel, including some overnight/weekend commitments
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Professional, proactive demeanor; strong interpersonal and communication skills
