Position Summary
The Service Sales Specialist develops new business throughout the Americas for Bio-Techne’s Analytical Solutions Division and achieves sales quota for instrument service contracts and related service products, including identifying protein analysis instrument opportunities (Simple Western, Maurice, MFI, Milo, and Single Cell Western) and supporting service sales with inside/field sales teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and drive new/existing business opportunities throughout North America under the direction of the Sales Manager.
- Identify and qualify opportunities via inbound lead follow-up, outbound warm/cold calls, emails, Teams, and social media.
- Implement new/innovative strategies to identify new business and revenue streams.
- Maintain open communication with internal/external sales teams, lead generation, and marketing.
- Monitor marketplace/competitors and report findings/pipeline cadence (weekly/monthly/quarterly).
- Achieve specified service sales quotes in assigned territory.
- Consult with prospective customers on current/future business needs.
- Maintain CRM with lead/customer contact.
- Provide accurate sales forecasting with supervisor/field sales teams.
- Identify process improvements and prioritize with Sales Manager.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a biological subject; immunology coursework/experience is a plus; lab experience desired but not required.
- Understanding of Life Science Research Reagents Market and Bio-Techne portfolio.
- Sales experience with strong commercial focus; target-driven and initiative-driven.
- Ability to track ROI and KPIs.
- Strong IT skills: databases, Outlook, Excel, Word; SalesForce.com experience desirable.
Skills & Abilities
- Attention to detail, time management, organizational skills; “can do” attitude.
- Multi-tasking, calm under pressure/deadlines, comfortable in fast-paced environments.
- Cross-functional relationship building; outbound calling comfort; excellent technical writing.
