The SVP of Sales will build and execute the commercial strategy for a pre-commercial biotechnology company preparing for its first product launch, including GTM design, recruiting/developing a high-performing sales organization, KOL relationships, sales force readiness, and performance.

Responsibilities:
- Shape overall U.S. commercial strategy with long-range planning; contribute to portfolio planning, lifecycle strategy, and Board-level commercial readiness.
- Partner with Finance and Executive Leadership on revenue planning, scenario modeling, and investment decisions.
- Design/implement a comprehensive U.S. Go-To-Market plan aligned to brand strategy, market access, patient services, medical affairs, and marketing.
- Translate clinical value into commercial messaging and field execution; coordinate cross-functionally (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Operations) for launch readiness.
- Define sales territory strategy (targeting, segmentation, deployment), KPIs, forecasting, and performance management.
- Recruit/hire/onboard field sales team and regional leadership; design scalable org architecture; develop multi-year capability roadmap, leadership bench building, succession planning, and second-line leaders (RSDs/Area Directors).
- Create launch training (disease state education, product knowledge, selling skills) and build a performance-driven culture.
- Lead sales-related launch readiness; oversee sales tools, CRM/call planning, incentive compensation, and reporting infrastructure; ensure regulatory/legal/ethical compliance.
- Engage KOLs and stakeholders; partner with Medical Affairs for compliant KOL interactions; provide field insights for strategy, messaging, and lifecycle planning.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/MS/PhD preferred.
- 15+ years progressive sales leadership in biotech/pharma.
- Proven success leading early product launches (ideally specialty/rare disease) and building/scaling sales teams in pre-commercial/early-stage settings.
- Strong U.S. healthcare understanding (KOL engagement, payer dynamics, integrated launch planning); cross-functional matrix experience.
- Ability to operate strategically and tactically in a resource-constrained environment.
