Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology operating in the Sacramento, CA territory (Fresno up to Sacramento on Route 99; does not cover San Francisco). Representing Oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and achieving or exceeding sales targets within the geographic area. Develop regional business plans and establish relationships with healthcare practices to provide disease awareness information and clinical updates.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets within a specific geographic area
  • Prepare a business plan for the territory to achieve goals and monitor sales progress and action plans
  • Identify patient pathways within oncology offices in the territory and facilitate patient access to treatment
  • Promote products to targeted oncologists and office staff; in-service staff to ensure safe and appropriate drug administration; inform staff about Gilead patient services
  • Establish and develop relationships with key customers, accounts, and key opinion leaders
  • Experience in hospital and large account sales; manage through complex reimbursement issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and ability to influence at professional events
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, Marketing, and Market Access on cross-functional projects to drive sales and patient adoption
  • Demonstrate leadership through compliant behavior and conduct
  • Assist in identifying and resolving issues; communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management
  • Complete administrative tasks promptly (e.g., updating customer database, expenses)
  • Ensure department personnel are informed of and compliant with Gilead commercial compliance policies and applicable laws and guidance

Qualifications

  • Basic: High School and 9 years of experience; or Associates degree and 7 years; or Bachelor's degree and 5 years; or Master's degree and 3 years
  • Ability to travel within the assigned area; satisfy onsite visitation requirements; perform essential duties; valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience with BS/BA or equivalent
  • Previous product launch experience
  • Strong selling skills in competitive markets; oncology experience; breast cancer experience preferred
  • Aptitude for understanding scientific product information
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with Oncology key opinion leaders
  • Influence and negotiation skills; account planning and cross-functional account management
  • Self-motivated with autonomy; aware of industry trends and competition; strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
