Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology - Dallas, TX Metroplex

Responsibilities:
- Represent Oncology products and services to a defined customer base; generate and grow sales and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets within a specific geographic area.
- Prepare a business plan for the territory, including systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.
- Identify patient pathways within oncology offices in the assigned territory and facilitate patient access to treatment.
- Promote assigned products to targeted oncologists and office staff; conduct in-servicing to ensure safe and appropriate drug administration; promote awareness of Gilead patient services.
- Establish and develop relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders.
- Manage hospital and large account sales, including complex reimbursement issues.
- Communicate effectively at professional events; influence others to represent Gilead and promote company products.
- Partner cross-functionally with Medical Scientists, Marketing, and Market Access to drive sales and patient adoption.
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities; proactively communicate with Marketing and Sales management.
- Complete required administrative tasks (e.g., updating customer database, expenses).
Basic Qualifications:
- High School and 9 years’ experience, OR Associate degree and 7 years’ experience, OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience, OR Master’s degree and 3 years’ experience.
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned area.
- Ability to meet onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners (e.g., vaccinations, drug/background screenings, and other practitioner requirements, if applicable).
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience and BS/BA degree or equivalent.
- Previous product launch experience; superior selling skills in competitive markets.
- Prior oncology therapy experience; prior breast cancer therapeutic experience strongly preferred.
- Aptitude for understanding scientific product information.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead and build relationships, including with Oncology key opinion leaders.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Account planning experience and cross-functional account management approach.
- Self-motivated; works with autonomy/independence.
- Familiar with industry trends and competitor resources/practices.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
